The recipe for the Organic Sea Breeze may seem familiar, particularly if you're familiar with the Bay Breeze.
They both use a Cape Codder, which is Vodka and Cranberry Juice,
as the base ingredients. The only difference is, while the bay uses pineapple juice, the sea uses grapefruit juice.
One way to remember this difference is, when you see "Bay" think of
"Caribbean Bay." In the Caribbean they grow a lot of pineapple. So Bay means Pineapple.
As with most drinks, this particular cocktail also comes in different variations. For example, if you add rum to a
Bay, you get an Island.
If you use coconut rum and use rasberry-flavored vodka instead of the regular vodka in addition to the pineapple juice, you get what is called an
Ocean.
Due to the nature of the drink's tropical ingredients, the drink is best enjoyed during the summer
months thanks to the abundant availability and freshness of the fruits used in the recipe.
Try and
use freshly squeezed organic grapefruit juice (or even squeen them yourself). It'll definitely bring out the
flavor of the organic cocktail drink.
The natural sweetness of the drink allows it to pair nicely with dessert dishes and light snacks, but the drink can
also be enjoyed by itself as a stand-alone cocktail on a hot summer day.
