Vodka Bay Breeze
The Vodka Bay Breeze is a tropical cocktail which uses vodka, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice.
Originating from the
1920s era, the drink originally used gin and grenadine as the principle ingredients.
The cocktail is
served in a high ball or collins glass and is garnished with a lime wedge. A good way to remember the list of ingredients
is by using this acronym: "Very Pretty Chic."
The V stands for Vodka, the P stands for Pineapple, and the C stands for Cranberry juice.
Simple, right?
This cocktail is usually served during the summer due to the availability and freshness of the fruits needed to make the drink.
It's a perfect summer drink that can be enjoyed by itself or paired with a fruity dessert, however, can also
be enjoyed all year round depending on the availability of the fruit ingredients.
Because the drink
balances the
strong alcohol flavor with the sweet and sour tanginess of the juices, it can be enjoyed by those
who wish to hide the strong taste of vodka. By using organic ingredients, you can add to the freshness
and flavor of the drink.
It's a
popular drink among the ladies, so be sure to know
how to make this drink if someone asks for it at the bar.
I like using the brand
Santa Cruz Organic Juices, which has flavors ranging from
Orange Mango and Apple Juice to Black Currant and Lemonade.
Santa Cruz is fresh, organic, and readily available at your local organic grocery store.
