Vodka Brands

***z-below-h1.shtml***

Chances are, if you're a legal drinking age, you're most likely familiar with different vodka brands in some way or another.

Vodka, at its basic, is simply distilled liquid that has been fermented from substances such as grain, potato, wheat, etc.

Although the list of countries that actually produce vodka is quite extensive, most commonly recognized countries that produce vodka are typically Poland, Russia, Sweden, France, and Lithuania.

Containing an alcohol content anywhere from 38% to 40%, vodka is usually enjoyed neat or on ice.

Vodka is also used in dozens of popular cocktails such as Screwdrivers, Sex on the Beach, Cosmpolitan, White Russians, Black Russians, and vodka martinis.

The US has produced quite a few excellent organic brands, which I am happy to mention below.

Now let's talk about the different types.

Organic Choices

Inexpensive Choices - $10-$15

One of my favorites is Rain Organics.

It costs anywhere from $10-$15 a bottle, which is around what you would pay fora a cheap bottle of conventional liquor, except that the organic option is much more beneficial for both you and the environment.

Distilled 7 times, Rain Organics produced spirits also come in a variety of flavors, such as Honey, Cucumber Lime, and Lavendar.

Midrange Choices - $15-$20

A corn-based spirit produced by Phillips Distilling Company in Minnesota, this vodka is both organic and kosher, and smooth tasting. It's great by itself or mixed with fresh organic fruit juices to create delicious and healthy cocktails.

A bottle costs on average $17.99

Pricer Choices $20 and above

This is by far my favorite choice when it comes to organic spirits. Eco-Chic Square-One is made from 100% certified organic American Rye, and is in fact the first of its kind.

It's a smooth tasting spirit that goes down very easily. It doesn't have the strong alcohol taste that most hard liquors have.
