Organic Vodka Martini
***z-below-h1.shtml***
The Classic Vodka Martini is usually made from Gin and Vermouth or Vodka and Vermouth.
It is served in a chilled
martini glass and can be shaken or stirred depending on the customer's preference, and garnished with
either a lemon twist or olives.
A good rule of thumb when making martinis is always be in the habit of asking the ordering
customer these 3 things.
- Gin or Vodka?
- Shaken or Stirred?
- Olive or Twist?
**Classic
martinis usually call for either gin or vodka and a hint of vermouth. After all, you can't really
call a cocktail a martini without the use of this latter ingredient. Unfortunately, however, there
aren't any organic vermouth brands, at least that I know of.

Fear not! At its most basic
level,
vermouth is basically
fortified wine, meaning wine to which spirits have been added.
Because
there are so many different types of organic wine, you can simply improvise and make your own
vermouth. It may not taste exactly like vermouth, but it's close enough and should do the trick.
Choose a
medium-bodied white wine such as
Sauvignon Blanc and add
Guy Pinard Cognac, which
is an Organic Brandy.
There is no exact
ratio, but it all depends on how strong you want your
vermouth.
You can also boil the brandy beforehand, adding cinnamon, cardamom, and chamomile for
extra flavoring.
