White Russian Recipe
A White Russian is a cream-based cocktail made with vodka, coffee liqueur, and cream. It's a good
desert drink to have on its own or pair with a sweet dish.
This cocktail derives from the Black Russian, which is vodka and coffee liqueur.
Add milk to this
combo, and you get a black russian. Neither of the drinks
have Russian origins, but are most likely named such because vodka is the primary ingredient.
There are various different ways to prepare this drink, the variations stemming from the type of coffee liqueur used
to the ratio of the ingredients.

The most common coffee liqueur that is used to make this drink is
Kahlua, a mexican liqueur that is made from coffee, sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla bean.
The organic, and healthier counterpart to Kahlua would be
Koval Organic Coffee liqueur made
from organic coffee and carbon neutral plants.
If the organic coffee liqueur is hard to come by, you can also use make your
own coffee base using
any brand of
organic coffee. Just make sure you use a very concentrated batch in order to extract
the strongest flavor possible.
The key to this drink is to shake it really well. In fact, here's a
hint. Any alcoholic drink that
contains
milk should be shaken in order to blend the milk and the alcohol together.
Or else, you run
the risk of serving a drink that has layers. And while there
are specific layered drinks, this
particular cocktail will taste the best when the contents are well shaken.
