Woo Woo

Chances are, if you've taken a shot, you know what a Woo Woo is. It can be both a cocktail and a shot.

Let's talk about the cocktail version of this drink, which consists of vodka, peach schnapps, and cranberry juice.

One good way to remember this combo is to use the phrase: "Very Pretty Chic" where V is for Vodka, P is for peach schnapps, and C is for cranberry juice.

Last I checked, I couldn't find good options for organic peach schnapps. But fear not. You can easily make it yourself.

Here are the ingredients you will need to make your own organic peach schnapps

Ingredients for making Organic Peach Schnapps
  • 2 pounds of fresh peaches
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of organic gin or vodka
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • Optional: 1 cup of brandy
Directions:
  • Prepare the peaches by slicing them in half and removing the pit. Cut peach into thin slices
  • Add the peach pit, slices, lemon juice and vanilla extract into either a crock pot or a glass canning jar
  • Boil the water and add the sugar. Stir over heat until all sugar is dissolved. After sugar has dissolved, remove from heat and let cool to room temperature
  • After the liquid has cooled of, pour the water into the jar over the peach content, add vodka/gin, and brandy
  • Seal the jar with an airtight lid, and gently shake so that the ingredients can mix
  • Place in a cool, dark place for 2 weeks
  • After 2 weeks, remove the solids by using a strainer. Then seal the jar, and place again in a cool, dark place for another 2 weeks
  • After 2 weeks have passed, strain the mixture once more through a cheesecloth and pour the liquid into a glass bottle
  • Now, serve and enjoy!!!
